The 38th Fife Festival of Music has been “hugely successful” with entries slightly up on last year.

Competitive and non competitive classes have taken place in Kirkcaldy, Cupar and Dunfermline, with the festival coming to an end tomorrow (Friday) evening.

“The event has been full of enthusiasm and enjoyment and we would like to thank everyone who has supported and sponsored it,” said Graeme Wilson, chairman.

“There have been lots of positive comments from people coming along to watch the various classes and we are delighted with the response.

“It has been more difficult financially as we haven’t had the support from Fife Council this year, but our private sponsors have stepped in and we are very grateful to them.”

This section of the festival is the first of three parts throughout the year, with the next part taking place in May, focussing on younger musicians.
