Kinghorn artists put themselves in the frame

A talented group of Kinghorn artists are putting a selection of their work on show in the popular annual Kinghorn Artists' Exhibition which starts on Saturday.

The week-long event, which closes on August 6, is in Kinghorn Community Centre and features everything from acrylics and watercolours to stitched textiles, photography and sculpture.

The display, which takes up two rooms of the community centre, will include the work of 12 artists who all either live or work in Kinghorn.

It will be open from 10am to 4pm daily, except for Sundays when it is closed, and refreshments are available in the community centre.

On August 4 artist Catherine Lindow will run a drawing workshop called ‘Not to Scale’ which is about map making with a difference. You don’t need to be an artist to join in. For more details see the Kinghorn Artists Facebook page.

Pat Beveridge, who is displaying for the second year, said: “We hope lots of people come along to see our work.”

The artists taking part in this year’s exhibition are: Catherine Lindow, Rose Bentley-Steed, Andrew Bentley-Steed, Marion Archibald, Pat Beveridge, Stuart Gilmour, Margot Hailey, Shirley James, Gilly Lee, John Malone, Paul C McDonald and Karen Reynolds.

Several of the artists will be showing their work for the first time.

A preview will take place for invited guests on Friday evening.
