Week of fun at Kinghorn Gala

Kinghorn residents have been enjoying a week of fun and games for their annual Gala Week following the crowning of the King and Queen in Kinghorn parish church at the weekend.

The weather stayed fair for the ceremony which attracted a large turnout of the local community.

Queen Ailidh Rutherford and King Aidan Cullinane, along with royal attendants Marley Feenie and Oliver Thompson all enjoyed the crowning ceremony which was conducted by Kinghorn minister Jim Reid.

Community stalwart Mary Tulloch was presented with the John McLeod Shield in recognition of her outstanding service to Kinghorn Children’s Gala over many years.

The crowning ceremony was followed by a Family Fun Day which included performances from Mick Magic, inflatable fun and carnival games at Kinghorn Community Centre.

Throughout the week there was fun on the beach, with lots of seaside activities attended by over 70 children. The fun included a scavenger hunt, sandcastle competitions, beach rounders and a barbecue.

The gala week will end with a carnival themed parade on Saturday, leaving from Park Place at 10am, followed by a sports afternoon and gala party night featuring performances from the Joy Aitken Highland Dancers, The Lucy Aitken Tappers and NRG street dancers.
