Plans for future of new Fife lifestyle shop

The owners of a new lifestyle shop and cafe in St Andrews have described their first month in the town as ‘great’ and outlined plans for the future.

Spoiled Life opened on Greyfriars Garden at the start of Feburary, offering customers a range of home accessories, furniture and jewellery which have been carefully selected.

Owners Steven Davis and Glenn Malloy, who live in Strathkinness, said they have had “loads of people through the door” over the first month.

“It’s a great addition to the town,” said Glenn.

“There’s nothing like this, where you get a mix of cafe and interior shopping. Even the vibe is different.”

Glenn and Steven ran a salon in Cupar for 13 years, before opening Spoiled Hairdressing in St Andrews.

While both have a passion for interiors, this is the first business like this either have been involved in.

“You go through different stages of worrying about different things,” said Steven.

“We didn’t worry about if it was going to be busy.

“We worried about what it was going to look like and pulling it all together. Then, when it opened, it was worrying if it was going to work.”

With the store now open and attracting customers, Steven and Glenn are looking to the future. They want to start an interior decorating service in the summer and are looking at hosting talks by designers.

There are also plans for jazz nights, mixing live music with discounted shopping.
