Hide AdCI Brown told Levenmouth Community Safety Panel last week there had been little threat recently from sneak-in thieves, bogus workmen or housebreakers, as these crimes were only economically worthwhile in certain cases.
Anti-social behaviour, fuelled by people drinking in public spaces, was down across the whole division, thanks to fixed penalties and the bad weather, although police expected a rise once the lighter evenings had set in.
As well as the local successes, CI Brown said Scotland was a forerunner in combating UK crime, because of close partnership work and referrals to other agencies during investigations.
