Bin collections disrupted in Fife towns - this is when to put them back out

Vehicle breakdowns spark backlog

Bin collections across North and East Fife have been disrupted today as a result of several vehicle breakdowns.

Affected areas included Gateside, Strathmiglo, Auchtermuchty, Dunshalt, Falkland and Freuchie, Newport and Tayport.

Fife Council urged peopleto leave their bins out for collection at a later date.

The council said it may take a few days to deal with the backlog.

A spokesperson said: “We would like to apologise for this ongoing disruption.

“If youR bin is not emptied on the scheduled date please leave bins out until Monday as crews will hopefully get the routes caught up with over the next few days and the weekend.

“The crews are doing their very best to catch up but this may take a few days.”
