Composer Euan Stevenson returns to Falkirk roots for new piece of work
Euan Stevenson’s Sound Track will celebrate the area’s award-winning path network and is billed as “a new piece of music just for Falkirk.”
News of a live performance in the spring is also a major boost for Classic Music Live! Which has seen all scheduled concerts at Falkirk Town Hall and Trinity Church cancelled because of the pandemic.

Hide AdThe organisation, Falkirk and Chamber Music Scotland commissioned Euan to create Sound Tracks.
It is is as varied as the landmarks themselves - from a hypnotic portrayal of the gently rotating Falkirk Wheel to a rousing depiction of marauding Caledonians assailing the Antonine Wall. “La Scozia” celebrates the community who have settled here from Italy and who contribute so much to local life.
The piece will be performed by the Earthtones Trio in the spring, hopefully in Falkirk Trinity Church.

Euan said he was delighted to go back to his roots for this special composition.
He said: “Returning to old stomping grounds stirs up childhood memories and emotions and inevitably there is a sense of nostalgia and melancholy which finds its way into the music.
“It has also been extremely nourishing exploring surroundings, both familiar and new, with my own children, whose exuberance for running and cycling along the pathways fuels a playful side to the music.”
