Nourish steps up bid for move into new premises

A fundraising campaign to secure new premises for a Kirkcaldy support group is set to take over the town’s retail park this weekend in an effort to get its message across.

Nourish needs to raise £15,000 to move into a new building.

The group, which supports families with children who have additional needs, has outgrown its current base in Glebe Park Community Centre and needs to raise the funds to secure new premises in the town.

So far the group has raised £4436 with members and supporters pulling out all the stops to make its dream come true.

On Saturday, its campaigners will be in fancy dress at Fife Retail Park in Kirkcaldy to drum up more support.

Lynne Scott, centre manager said: “The last few weeks have been so much fun with all our fundraising activities, and the support we have had from people in our community has been amazing – we still have lots more to come.

"The funds are coming, but we are still behind our target. In order for us to ensure we can cover our first years rent in our new premises, we need to reach our target soon, so that our new centre will enable us to provide vital support for families who have children with additional support needs in Fife.

"Families who use Nourish have also been taking part in our fundraising campaign, with jewellery parties, raffles, and more. The Ramage family asked friends family and neighbours to sponsor them for the roundabout appeal and did a great job raising awareness and funds.

"Father and son team Jason and Owen Smith took part in a sponsored walk from Kirkcaldy to Anstruther and raised £500.

"This Saturday we are heading to Fife Retail park, we will be in fancy dress and will be sharing awareness of our campaign, we will also have donation tins with us if anyone would like to support us.

"This week we will also be launching our raffle, with gorgeous prizes donated from Poster Creative in Dunfermline.
