The incident happened near Inverkeithing on Monday night.

A 36-year old man was struck by a car and is now in Edinburgh Royal Infirmary where he is being treated for very serious injuries.

Police Scotland officers investigating the incident say he was hit by a Suzuki Celerio car on the A921 road at the roundabout junction with the B981, North Road.

It happened around 10:20pm on Monday.

The 63-year-old driver was not physically injured.

Sergeant Alastair Purvis at Road Policing East Division in Glenrothes said: “Anyone who was travelling on the A921 road near to Inverkeithing around 10.20 pm on Monday, and either witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage is asked to contact police.”
