Colin McGinley's Glenrothes-based Team Fife came from third place to first with close fought wins at the Premier Volleyball League games at Bell's Sport Centre on Sunday.

Fifers opened against Jamie Salvin’s Dodgy Spikers with Spikers taking the first set 25-18. Back came Fifers in the second set to level the game with a 25-19 score taking the game to a third set decider.

Fifers strode to a 5-0 lead and Spikers fight back with McGinley’s musketeers leading 13-7 at full time.

Fifers then met league leaders Mental Eagles and found themselves wanting as they crashed to a 12-25 defeat.

The second set saw the Fifers rally and edge out the league leaders 25-20 setting up another third set decider.

The Fife side stormed ahead 7-1 but an amazing come-back from Eagles saw them claw back to a two point difference before time was called, Fifers leading 10-8.

Fifers followed this with an easier two sets to love win against SoVoBo to sit at the top of the table by two points with one more game played.
