Mr Rocco Gallo has submitted a planning application to Fife Council to change the retail unit at 95 St Clair Street into a hot food takeaway.

The building is currently a hair salon.

If approved by councillors, he plans to sell fresh cold and hot rolls, pastries, coffees and teas.

Mr Gallo also plan to have a salad bar for homemade food.

In a supporting letter, he said: “A couple of years ago, this shop was used as a cupcake bakery, and we are hoping to do some home baking.

“As I am of Italian origin I intend this outlet to be a little more up market, providing some hot and cold pastas, and ice creams.”

The proposed opening hours would be 7:00am until 8:00pm, Tuesday to Saturday.

Mr Gallo’s application will be considered by councillors in due course.
