Kirkcaldy mum's cash boost for local club
A Kirkcaldy mum, gymnastics coach and fundraiser has received a £10,000 donation for her local gymnastics club after being named the latest winner of the Arnold Clark £10K Giveaway.
Stacey Hughes, who works at Arnold Clark Car & Van Rental in Kirkcaldy, was surprised with the news at her branch by Arnold Clark’s Group Customer Services and Rental Director, Margaret Speirs.
The donation comes as Stacey prepares to take part in her third Kiltwalk of the year in Edinburgh, having already completed the Glasgow and Dundee events to raise money for Kirkcaldy Gymnastics Club.
The club holds a special place in Stacey’s heart. Not only do her daughters attend classes there, but she also volunteers as a coach, helping young gymnasts develop their skills and confidence.
The donation will make a significant difference to the club by helping to reduce membership fees for families and fund the purchase of new equipment. The support will allow more children and young people to access gymnastics opportunities in the local area while enhancing the experience for existing members.
Stacey said: “I was completely shocked when I found out I’d won.
“Kirkcaldy Gymnastics Club means so much to me and my family, so knowing this money will help reduce costs for families and provide new equipment for the gym is incredible.
“It’s fantastic to be able to support a club that does so much for young people in our community.”
Margaret Speirs added: “We’re delighted to support Stacey and Kirkcaldy Gymnastics Club through the Arnold Clark £10K Giveaway.
“Stacey’s commitment to fundraising and volunteering for a cause that means so much to her is truly inspiring.
“We wish her all the best for her final Kiltwalk and look forward to seeing the positive impact this donation will have on the club and the wider community.”
Stacey will take on her final Kiltwalk of the year in Edinburgh later this month, continuing her fundraising efforts for the club and the young people it supports.
