Duplicate letters for first COVID vaccination sent to number of Fifers

Duplicate letters have been sent to some people in Fife inviting them to get their first COVID vaccine - after they have already been.

The issue was highlighted by NHS Fife which stressed there was no need to re-book.

It arose due to a problem arose via the national appointment scheduling tool, and comes just weeks after an IT glitch added 7000 appointments to the system.

NHS Fife said: “We understand that a number of people may have received an additional letter inviting them for their first vaccination, after they have received their vaccine.

“There is no need to do anything.”

NHS Fife also urged people not to contact them - they have no access to individual appointments.

A statement stressed: “The roll-out of the COVID-19 vaccination and appointment scheduling is being led by the Scottish Government. “

Fifers should also contact NHS Scotland if they think they should have received an invitation to their appointment by now, or if they have lost their letter.
