Falkland Stewardship Trust has received £6750 from the National Lottery Community Fund to create a family friendly festive trail through the woods on Falkland Estate.

Opening on December 5, the woods will come alive with the sights and sounds of Christmas, lighting up the area and providing fun clues for children to follow as they listen out for Santa and his sleigh bells.

Families will also be able to visit a small craft shop and gallery.

Open until the beginning of January, the trail - which will observe social distancing rules - starts at the Forest of Falkland car park off the A912 and ends at the Stables building on Falkland’s Estate.

Helen Lawrenson, centre director, said: “We are delighted to receive this award from the National Lottery Community Fund.

Announcing the funding The National Lottery Community Fund’s Scotland Chair, Kate Still, added: “In these unprecedented times, it’s heartening to see the way Scottish communities are coming together to support another.

“Thanks to National Lottery players, Falkland Stewardship Trust will be able to create a magical festive trail that will bring joy to the lives of many families during the festive season.
