Court: Former Kirkcaldy man set car on fire

A former Kirkcaldy man who admitted setting a car on fire has had his sentence deferred for six months.

Ross Hopgood, formerly of Harris Drive and now living in Bathgate, appeared before Sheriff Jamie Gilchrist at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court.

Hopgood, 27, previously admitted on October 14, 2020 at an address in Earlston Way in Glenrothes he wilfully set fire to a motor vehicle causing damage.

Sheriff Gilchrist deferred sentence until June 3 next year to allow Hopgood to save up for compensation to pay for the damage.
