Woman assaulted police officer and threatened sergeant

Sentence has been deferred on a Fife woman who threatened an acting police sergeant and assaulted a police constable in Methil.

Pauline Duffy, of Holborn Place, Rosyth, appeared at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court.

Duffy, 38, admitted that on March 9, 2019 at an address in Lila Bank in Methil, she behaved in a threatening manner by repeatedly shouting and swearing, uttering threats of violence towards an acting police sergeant and threatening to harm herself.

She also admitted that on the same date, in the same place, she acted in a reckless manner towards a police constable by throwing a vase from a first floor window which struck the constable on the head and body.

She admitted that on the same date, in the same place, she recklessly set fire to a blanket which spread to a carpet and cupboard, exposing police officers to the risk of injury.

Duffy also admitted assaulting a police constable by kicking him.

Sheriff Williamson deferred sentence until May 13 next year.
