Large police response at two Fife incidents over weekend

A man was arrested after a disturbance in Cardenden sparked a large police response including armed officers on Sunday.

Main Street was blocked by police vehicles as officers attended an incident.

They arrested a 40-year old man. No-one was injured.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “We were made aware of a disturbance at a property in Main Street, Cardenden, around 7:45am on Sunday.

“Officers attended and a 40-year old man was arrested in connection with the incident.”

The spokesman added: “There was no wider risk to the public.”

In a separate incident on Saturday morning, there was a large police presence in Percival Street, Kirkcaldy.

Police said they were called after reports of concern for a local person.
