It forms part of the Festival of Ideas which was one of the many events cancelled last year.

The Adam Smith Global Foundation has moved this year’s lecture to mid summer and decided to stage it online as restrictions on large gatherings continue to impact.

It will be given by Henrietta Fore, executive director of UNICEF on June 7.

She also served as the 37th director of the United States Mint in the U.S. Department of Treasury from 2001 to 2005.

Ms Fore is the latest leading name to give the lecture, following in the footsteps of Kofi Annan, former Secretary General of the United Nations; Ed Balls, former Chancellor, and Alan Greenspan, who served five terms as chair of the Federal Reserve of the United States from 1987 to 2006.

Ticket details will be released shortly.
