Amazon workers reach summit of Mount Snowdon for Fife's Maggie's Centre

A team of workers from Amazon’s fulfilment centre in Fife have raised thousands for our Maggie’s Centre by climbing Mount Snowdon.

The group of nine raised £2,792 for the Kirkcaldy-based cancer care centre, and reached the Welsh peak in an impressive time of just three hours.

The money raised will be used by the charity to continue the support of those living with cancer and their loved ones.

One of those taking on the challenge was Phil Hayes.

He said the team faced some challenging conditions on the day.

He said: “It was a great achievement to complete the climb of Mount Snowdon with my teammates.

Jamie Strain, general manager at Amazon in Dunfermline, added his praise for the group.

He said: “The climb was a brilliant achievement for a charity that supports people across Fife and we are so proud of everyone from Amazon in Dunfermline who took part.”

Adam Kent, fundraising manager at Maggie’s Fife, expressed his thanks to the fundraisers for their donation.

He said: “The team at Maggie’s would like to say a huge thank you to Amazon in Dunfermline for this donation and to the team who took part in the fundraising hike.

“A massive well done to everyone involved – they should be proud.”
