The school’s beach day takes place this week, ahead of eight days of fun events.

The Auld Hoose will host the annual darts tournaments on Friday, June 5 and Saturday, June 6, and the local RNLI will host a coffee morning in the church halls on Saturday.

On Sunday, this year’s gala queen Willow-Eve Kindred and king Ethan Milne will be crowned in a special ceremony in the Church by the Sea at 11am. They will be joined by their attendants Jacob Fetter and Rarri-Wynter Mackie.

During the afternoon, the bowling club will be running a family bowling afternoon from 2.30pm.

The events continue with bingo on Monday and a family quiz night on Tuesday. There will also be a toddlers’ soft play session on Tuesday morning in the church hall.

The adults’ dominoes competition takes place at The Crown Tavern on Wednesday, June 8.

Thursday will see the primary school host a talent show before the ever popular football tournament at the community centre from 4pm and the family treasure hunt at the bowling club at 6pm.

Parade day will take place on Saturday, June 13 as this year’s events will draw to a close.

The parade starts at 10.30am from Orchard Road play park, following a new route through the town via Eastgate, North Overgate, St Leonards Place, High Street, Burntisland Road, McDuff Crescent, David the First Street, Pettycur Road and Rossland Place before finishing at the Community Centre.

From noon until 8pm, there will be something for the whole family to enjoy at Kinghorn Community Centre.

Among the planned entertainment is bouncy castles, a rodeo bull, trampolines, stalls, live entertainment, and new for this year, a licensed bar.

A spokesperson for the gala committee urged people to join them on Saturday, June 13 for “a fantastic day of fun, entertainment and community spirit”.

They said: “Thanks to the hard work of local volunteers, community groups and supporters, we've got something for everyone to enjoy. “Whether you're taking part, cheering from the sidelines, or simply coming along to support your neighbours and friends, we hope you'll join us in celebrating everything that makes our community so special. “As always, the gala relies on the kindness and generosity of local people.

"If you can help in any way – even if it's just for an hour – we'd love to hear from you. Every helping hand makes a difference and helps keep this wonderful tradition going for future generations.

"Thank you for your continued support, and we can't wait to see the community come together once again.”
