Two Fife couples received the perfect present on Christmas Day when they welcomed their newborn babies into the world.

Proud parents Debbie and Colin met their baby boy, who weighed 7lb 5oz, just before 1am yesterday.

While no details of the child’s name have been confirmed as of yet, NHS Fife shared a message on Facebook to congratulate the family.

The post read: “A wonderful Christmas gift for Debbie and Colin, welcoming a beautiful baby boy at 12.55am.

The post continued: “Merry Christmas from us all at NHS Maternity. Love today and always.”

The second bundle of joy was delivered at 12.40pm as mum and dad Kirsty and Lewis got to hold son Elijah, who weighed 9lb 7oz, for the first time.
