Nikii, who is a local dance and drama teacher and runs Celtic Moves Irish Dancers, told The Press: “I had thought about doing a women-focused event about a year ago when I was inspired by International Women’s Day,” she said.

“I wanted to do something locally because I have seen more and more brilliant events coming up so I thought it would be really good to do something myself in Fife.

“I wanted it to be fitness-related because I feel it is important for all ages to stay active. There has been a push recently on getting girls to exercise so I was trying to tie that in.

“I have a dance background in fitness, Irish dancing and Zumba which is my passion and I love teaching those classes. There is so much creativity here in Fife, particularly with female makers/crafters and I just wanted to focus on empowering women and celebrating what local women do.”
