Joanna Lumley to headline Festival of Ideas in Kirkcaldy
The actor, presenter and campaigner will be on stage at the Adam Smith Theatre in Kirkcaldy on Saturday, March 21.
Tickets go on sale today (Thursday) and are expected to sell out in very quick time.

Hide AdShe will be in conversation with actor, Arabella Weir, director of the festival, which is organised by the Adam Smith Global Foundation.
Lumley’s career has encompassed everything from the catwalk to film, theatre and television as well as a number of well received travelogues.
She made her breakthrough in 1976 as Purdey in the hit series The New Avengers, in which she starred with Patrick MacNee and Gareth Hunt.
She also enjoyed huge succes in the role of Patsy Stone in the hit series Absolutely Fabulous which first aired in 1992.

Hide AdIts success led to a spin-off movie which saw Lumley reprise her legendary role as the often drunk fashion editor.

Lumley brings a touch of showbiz to the festival which also includes the Adam Smith Lecture given by Henrietta H. Fore, UNICEF’s executive director, on the 20th, and a food festival organised by Fife College and BID company Kirkcaldy4All.

The weekend long gathering will also include a family fun day at the Adam Smith Theatre as well as live music from well-known local band Gaels Blue.
