The plumbing and heating specialists which has been serving the community in Kirkcaldy for 18 years is the only Scottish showroom in the category with its competition all hailing from south of the border.

The nomination comes as a welcome surprise as the new showroom, which is located in Mitchelston Industrial Estate, only opened last year.

Sean Brown, owner, said: “I’ve been working in Kirkcaldy all of my life, and started my apprenticeship in the very unit that we have our showroom in now.

"I started my business in 2003 and have always worked alone, but as I got married a couple of years ago I decided to try and grow the business as I was always working silly hours and wanted to spend more time with my wife Carol.

"I have alway wanted a showroom so in 2019 I moved into the unit in Mitchelston and spent around a year fixing it up.”

Sean opened his showroom to customers last September, and as other companies have struggled during the pandemic Sean has seen his company grow with him being able to take on extra staff.

"I now have four engineers, three apprentices, a bathroom designer, and a office manager working for me,” he said.

"We offer people something a little bit different with first class service, and we never shy away from any job no matter how big or small.

"I’ve lived in Kirkcaldy for most of my life and try to serve the community as best I can as I’m very passionate about what I do.

"To be nominated for this award and to get some recognition for all of our hard work is amazing – normally the judges would visit the showroom in person but with the ongoing pandemic it will all be done digitally.

"This has all been made possible by my amazing staff for sticking by me, especially Sharon Cooper, my office manager – she has been my rock.”
