The popular theatre, which opened in September last year only to shut at the start of lockdown has put on two previous shows online over the summer, but this Friday’s is the most ambitious yet!

Friday’s Contrived Cabaret will feature a wide variety of cabaret acts including, burlesque performers, singer songwriters, musicians, aerial acrobats, pole dancers, and poetry readings among many more.

Stephen Barbour, owner said: “The cabaret show was booked last year, initially it was cancelled but we have looked at ways for it go ahead safely.

"We will have all of the necessary Covid safety measures in place, with performers entering the theatre to perform before leaving to ensure that we don’t have too many people in an enclosed space together.

"It will be great to have performers on the stage again.”

With the theatre forced to close its doors at the start of lockdown, it has now been closed longer than it has been open.

"We are still here and we hope to be fully open by next April,” Stephen adds. “We’ve been looking at virtual venues for a while now and it would be nice to have an online platform.

"Even when the Scottish Government eased lockdown restrictions it wasn’t viable for the theatre to open as we don’t have a big pub clientele, so it really wasn’t worth it for us to open, especially if we have to limit numbers to 25 people at a time.”
