Man in hospital after emergency incident

A man is in hospital after a large-scale emergency incident at a Fife park this morning.

Emergency services are on the scene at Riverside Park in Glenrothes, where a man has fallen into the River Leven.

A Police Scotland said: “Officers received received reports of a man having fallen from the bridge near Riverside Park over the River Leven in Glenrothes at around 10.20am today.

“Emergency services are in attendance and a search and rescue operation is underway.”

A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were alerted at 10.29am on Thursday, March 5 to a request for assistance from emergency service partners at Riverside Park, Glenthrothes.

“Operations Control mobilised a number of resources including specialist water and rope rescue teams to the area.

“Crews left the scene at 12.39pm.”

A spokesperson for the Scottish Ambulance Service said: “We received a call today at 10.30am to attend an incident in Glenrothes.

“We dispatched two ambulances and transported one male patient to Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy.”
