Police close inquiry into report of man in 40s approaching young girl in Fife town

Fife Police investigating reports of a man approaching a child in a Fife town have said the incident did not take place.

It gave an update after seven days of inquiries.

It follows a report of a man said to be in his 40s approaching a ten-year old girl who was standing outside the Spar shop in Freuchie’s High Street.

He was said to be driving a black van with tinted windows.

The child was playing with friends at the time of the reported incident around 6:30pm on Thursday, April 15.

Police have now confirmed that “following a number of enquiries carried out, it has now been established that this incident did not take place."
