Cup ‘N’ Cakes by Monica has created an ‘adults playground’ where people from the town can go to relax with a cake and coffee with friends – or use as a space to work.
The shop which is located at the High Street end of Links Street serves up delicious American style baked treats, but will also be branching out to provide sandwiches and other lunchtime food.

Owner, Monica Finch-Robertson, was born and raised in Las Vegas before moving to Scotland after meeting her wife in Amsterdam 12 years ago.
She said: “The shop used to be called A Little More Cake before I rebranded it as Cup ‘N’ Cakes by Monica in 2015, and started selling more American style cakes.
"At the moment we can only hold four people comfortably, and there can sometimes be 12 people in it so I decided to take over the shop next door to turn into a seating area.

Monica’s shop is not only a place to buy yummy treats, but is also a community hub where people come to chat and to get things off their chest.
"My shop is like a barber’s shop where people come and chat,” she adds. “Even if they are not coming in for any cakes they can come in for a chat – it’s like therapy for people.
"I now have so many friends who were customers to begin with, just because we got to chatting.

"We are kind of like the forgotten people at the end of the High Street – it’s amazing the amount of people who come into the shop that never even realised that we were here.”
