Secret MoD listening station in Fife you never knew existed to become family home
Plans to convert a former MoD listening station in Fife station into a private home have been approved.
The building at Hawklaw Road, Cupar, dates from the 1940s - and much of its work remains classified to this day.

At its peak, it employed 120 people, but the building has been empty since the 1980s.
An application from Mr & Mrs G. Beaton to make the changes has now been approved by Fife Council.

They were given the green light to turn the former wireless telegraphy station into a home.
The local authority also approved a proposal to build a log cabin on the site.
They bought the land in 2012 and had been looking at various options before opting to turn it into a private residence.

Previous applicants had made several unsuccessful bids to turn it into a children’s holiday centre in 1996, and a nursing home in 1997, and private homes.
