An experienced hill climber, he tackled some of the summits in darkness to complete the unique challenge.

Ross was also joined on some by his Westie, Dex.

His hike - which concluded at 1:00 am - took him up Benarty Hill, Saline Hill, Knock Hill, Largo Law, Norman's Law, Lumbennie Hill, Cairnie Hill, Mount Hill, West Lomond Hill and East Lomond Hill.

It took him just under 18 hours to complete, and covered some 31 miles.

Ross believes he is the person to summit all 10 of the Kingdom’s highest hills in under 24 hours.

His challenge formed part of SAMH’s 'virtual STOMP' fundraising event.

Ross said: “I was so pleased to complete the challenge - I’ve never hiked so much in one day before but it’s amazing to fundraise over £1500 for SAMH.

“Mental health charities like SAMH have never been more important given everything that’s been going on in recent months, so I can’t thank people enough for donating.”

He added: “We have some amazing wee hills in Fife - from the Lomond Hills, to Benarty Hill, to Largo Law, and even smaller ones like The Binn In Burntisland. I would encourage people to get out and explore these hills and their local area - Fife has so much to offer for outdoor locations and doing exercise is so beneficial for good mental health.”
