Ian Stewart was the sixth Rolling Stone - and an integral figure to their global success.
Born in Pittenweem, the keyboardist was the first person to answer Brian Jones' advert for musicians who would go on to form the greatest rock 'n' roll band in the world.
His time on stage was brief - he moved into the wings as road manager, and keyboardist, playing on almost all their classic albums for the next two decades.
Stewart was just 47 when he died in 1985.
In his biography, Keith Richards wrote: "Ian Stewart. I'm still working for him. To me The Rolling Stones is his band. Without his knowledge and organisation ... we'd be nowhere."
When the band was inducted into the Rock 'N'; Roll Hall Of Fame, they insisted Stewart's name was included in the citation.

Prog ockers Jethro Tull were led by Dunfermline-born frontman Ian Anderson - arguably the only rock star to play a flute solo while perched on one leg!
