Trains from Fife to Edinburgh have been hit by last night’s major thunderstorms and torrrential rain.

Scotrail has announced that it cannot run any services between Edinburgh and the Kingdom – in either direction.

It is one of a number of routes badly affected by last night’s extreme weather.

Scotrail is currently organising alternative travel, but warned commuters this would take some time to have in place.

They are currently unable to run trains – in either direction.

Services have also been hit across central Scotland with no trains between Edinburgh and Glasgow, or to Aberdeen, Inverness and Perth.#
