Gillian Carmoodie from Glenrothes won two first prizes at the 2000 Glamis Motor Extravaganza. There were around 2000 vehicles and exhibits showcasing road transport from the late 1800s right through to modern day. All of the exhibits were fully functioning and most of the vehicles were actually driven to the event including Gillian's. During the weekend she won 1st in class (1956 - 1966) for the Navigational Regularity Rally and 1st Overall in the Period Dress and Drive Competition. Gillian was driving her 1957 Standard 8 named 'Henry' in the events. She used the car daily to commute to University in St Andrews where she was studying Zoology.
