Councillor hits back over local office closure in St Andrews
Liberal Democrat Councillor Jane Ann Liston was responding to a report that the Fife Council office at St Mary’s Place will close at the end of this year, apparently without any preparation to accommodate displaced services elsewhere in the town.
Cllr Liston explained, “Previously, the idea was to adapt the Town Hall so that the services currently being delivered from St Mary’s Place could move there, and possibly also the library.

Cllr Liston commented: “It is completely unacceptable that St Andrews, the largest town in North East Fife, should have services taken away.

“It is quite wrong that even more locals will have to suffer from the inconvenience of this unwanted journey.
“St Andrews is a natural centre, as a glance at the road network will prove, and as such should not be downgraded.”
