Scottish Election 2021 results: SNP hold Cowdenbeath with near doubled majority
Annabelle Ewing has almost doubled her majority in Cowdenbeath despite a challenge from Labour's Alex Rowley.
The incumbent SNP candidate secured a lead of 6,013 over Rowley, up from 3,041 in 2016. Rowley's vote share fell slightly compared to the previous election, from 10,674 to 10,486. His overall share also fell from 35.7% to 30.6%.
Elsewhere, Conservative councillor Darren Watt secured 4,758 votes, up 507 from Dave Dempsey in 2016, while Liberal Democrat Malcolm Wood picked up 1,088 votes, down slightly from 1,094.
The Greens' Mags Hall, who is also standing as a list candidate, gained 1,344 votes.

Turnout in Cowdenbeath was 59.7%, up 5.2 percentage points from 54.5% in 2016.
