SNP appoints new deputy leader in Fife

The SNP group on Fife Council has a new deputy leader.

Councillor Bailey-Lee Robb has stepped into the role following David Barratt’s election as MSP for Cowdenbeath. He also takes on the party’s role as spokesperson for communities and leisure services.

Cllr Robb said: “Taking on these responsibilities is a privilege, and I am under no illusion about the scale of the task ahead. My focus will be clear - holding the Labour-led administration to account, delivering for our communities across Fife, and driving forward the work that will underpin our manifesto ahead of the 2027 local elections.

"The people of Cowdenbeath, and indeed Fife, deserve a refreshed administration that is firmly focused on their priorities - one that listens, delivers, and puts communities first. That is exactly what the SNP will be offering at the ballot box in 2027, and the work starts now."

Cllr Robb paid tribute to his predecessor, saying Cllr Barratt had served with dedication and drive for local communities, and that he was grateful for the foundation laid during his time in the roles.
