Fife Flyers announce captain and leadership team

Matt Carter becomes team captain, with Jonas Emmerdahl, Craig Peacock and Jams Isaacs wearing the ‘A’ badges.
The appointments were confirmed this weekend.
Carter is one of the team’s most experienced players and has emerged as an on ice leader in recent weeks.

The former Nottingham Panthers forward joins a long list of illustrious names who have worn the C for Flyers.
Head coach, Todd Dutiaume, said: “Matt brings huge experience to the team. He is someone the players go to for advice and guidance, and command respect.”Dutiaume said he was delighted with the appointments - posts Flyers have often taken time to fill in the past.
“We have a number of natural leaders on the team, but these four guys immediately jumped out at us.”


Carter said he was honoured to gain the position.
“It is a privilege to be chosen as there are a lot of leaders on our team,” he said. “I am very grateful and looking forward to the rest of the season.”

Hide AdBlue line partners Emmerdahl and Isaacs will both wear the ‘A’’ badge on their jerseys - and they are players Dutiaume sees ass key to leading the team.
“Jonas leads by example night in night out. He leaves everything out on the ice and consistently shows up every night to play at the top level and has wonderful leadership qualities,” he said.
“He was one of the first guys I wanted back from our last roster.
“James has been with the club for a considerable period of time and we have seen him develop over time.

Hide Ad“He is very vocal off ice, as well as giving his all on ice he is instrumental in leading these guys off the ice and organising events to make the team bond and gel.
“And Peaks has been an absolute delight to work with and is another guy who brings a wealth of experience.
“We have seen younger guys, import and non-import, go to him for guidance and assistance, he is a steadying influence on the ice and another guy who can develop strong relationships with the team.”
