Nominations now being taken for next spring's Central Fife ClubSport Awards

We’ve reached that time of year when nominations are required from Fife Free Press for next spring’s Central Fife ClubSport Awards in Fife College.

The ceremony on Thursday, March 4, 2027 will see numerous Fife sports stars honoured, with one guaranteed major change on the night as Dawn Blair – organiser and compere for the past two editions – has stepped down which means these duties will be shared between sports council stalwarts George MacDonald (CFCS chairman) and committee member Ken White.

White, 85, told the Fife Free Press: “I started the awards 21 years ago and did it for years. I put it all together with a help from George who was the sports council secretary at the time while I was a committee member.

"I was the only one who did the announcing but George and I will do that next time.

"We’re definitely sorry to see Dawn go. She did a lot of work.”

Nominations for the voting panel to pick their winners from are required by Sunday, January 17, 2027 in the following categories: Junior (born 2011 or earlier); Youth (born 2006-2010); Senior (born 2005 or earlier); Para athlete (all ages); Junior Team (team members born 2008 or later); Senior Team (team members born 2007 or earlier); Club (CFCS-affiliated clubs); Coach (all ages); Service to Sport (coaches, officials and administrators) and Youth Volunteer (born 2002 or later).

The achievements of the nominee(s) you are voting for must have been accomplished on a date during 2026.

The award winners will be following in the footsteps of Fife sports heroes including last year’s overall sports personality winner, the profoundly deaf Thornton Hibs footballer Christina Murray who was recognised for being picked in the GB squad for the 2029 Deaflympics in Athens, Greece.
