Flixbus adds Fife town to its network – this is what tickets will cost
Coach operator FlixBus is set to add another Fife town to its network - with ticket prices starting at under £5.
The long distance bus company will operate out of Glenrothes from November 23, providing up to 16 departures per day, eight in each direction.
Services on the new 095 route will connect the town and Kirkcaldy to Dundee, Aberdeen, Dunfermline and Edinburgh, as part of a wider expansion that also increases services from Aberdeen and Dundee to Glasgow and Edinburgh.
The boost, delivered with operating partner McGill’s Buses, brings 20 daily services in each direction between Aberdeen, Dundee, Perth and Glasgow and 18 between Aberdeen and Edinburgh, giving passengers even more choice of direct departures.

The expansion follows an increase in cross-border services between Scotland and England in August, and a new FlixBus shop at Edinburgh Bus Station.
Shamil Maindiratta, Managing Director of FlixBus UK, said: “As part of our long-term strategy for growth in Scotland, we’re delighted to welcome Glenrothes to the FlixBus network for the first time, alongside more services between Aberdeen, Dundee, Glasgow and Edinburgh with our trusted partner McGill’s.
“Together, we’re making affordable, reliable and sustainable long-distance travel available to even more residents and visitors to Scotland, with journeys for less than a fiver.”
Travel tech brand FlixBus, known for its bright green coaches, celebrated its fifth anniversary this year and now serves over 100 destinations across the UK.
Every journey includes free wi-fi, charging points and a guaranteed seat for every passenger, while luggage is included in the ticket price. National Entitlement Card (NEC) holders can travel free across the FlixBus Scotland network, including Young Scot cardholders under 22, over 60s and disabled passengers.
