Raith will rock!

The 11th Rock the Rovers festival takes place across two Kirkcaldy venues this weekend.

The annual live music event, which raises funds for Raith Rovers FC and the Raith Community Foundation, is being held on Sunday, starting at 2.00 p.m in Styx, before continuing in The Duchess from 7.30 pm.

There will be a raffle with some great prizes including signed Raith Rovers shirts, rounds of golf at Swanston and Kirkcaldy Golf Clubs, two tickets for a Raith home game, two tickets for the Raith Hall of Fame night at the Adam Smith Theatre, and tickets for 14 to a party night at Jackie O’s.

Tickets are on sale from both venues priced at £10, and will also be available on the door on the day.

The Raith Community Foundation works in partnership with community organisations to deliver locally based opportunities to improve the health and well-being of participants and promote community spirit.

Projects include a “get fit” programme that targets overweight, inactive middle aged men; a keep fit class that parents can take part in along with their children and a “walking football” programme for the older members of the community.

The Foundation is also involved in the Saturday morning Community Football programme that has operated successfully for a number of years at Kirkcaldy High School, offering goal keeping training for the first time.
