Forging stronger links between Fife libraries and their communities

OnFife Libraries are piloting a new engagement initiative to forge stronger links between local libraries and their communities.

Library Connections aims to get a better understanding of local needs, identify barriers to library use, encourage membership of libraries by having conversations around the range of services available and explore opportunities for improved access.

As part of this work, four informal public information sessions will take place in the coming weeks when library staff will be popping up in community venues around Fife to ask people for their views.

These sessions will take place at the Larick Centre, Tayport on Monday, March 16, between 11am and 3pm; Lochore Meadows, Willie Clarke Visitor Centre, on Wednesday, March 18 from 10am to 2pm; Auchmuty Learning Centre, Glenrothes on Thursday, March 26, between 9.30am and 1pm; and Bowhill Community Centre, Cardenden on Friday, April 10, from 2pm to 4.30pm.

Samantha MacDougall, community wellbeing manager, said: “Our team are looking forward to chatting with people about the many and varied activities and services on offer in their local OnFife library.”

There will be a limited number of books available to borrow on the day and some library themed giveaways.
