Ladies' Day success sees £750 presented to Breast Cancer Now
Fundraising cheque presentation after lodge’s ladies’ day.
Members of Lodge Balgonie recently met to support Lorna Rougvie, wife of the Right Worshipful Master, present a cheque for £750 to Blue White, a volunteer representing Breast Cancer Now, following the success of the lodge's annual Ladies Day held at the end of May in the lodge premises in Markinch.

The donation was raised through the generosity and support of those who attended the popular event, which brought together members, families, friends and guests for an enjoyable day while supporting an important cause.
The cheque was presented at the lodge by Lorna Rougvie, who arranged the Ladies Day event to the Breast Cancer Now charity, recognising the charity's vital work in providing support, funding world-class research and campaigning for better care for those affected by breast cancer.
Lorna Rougvie commented: "I am delighted to be able to make this donation to Breast Cancer Now on behalf of the wives and partners of the Lodge Balgonie members. Our Ladies Day was a tremendous success, and this contribution reflects the kindness and generosity of everyone who attended, donated and helped organise the event. I would like to thank all those who supported the day and made this presentation possible."
Blue White, commented “my motivation to volunteer with Breast Cancer Now comes from my own personal experience that showed me how challenging the Cancer journey can be. So I have turned something personal and at times negative into something positive to help raise awareness and hopefully make things easier for others.
With Breast Cancer Now’s vision 2050 that everyone with Breast Cancer is living, and living well, the need for research, awareness and support has never been greater.”
Right Worship Master of Lodge Balgonie, Bro. John Rougvie extended his thanks and appreciation to everyone who contributed to the fundraising effort and hopes the donation will help Breast Cancer Now continue its invaluable work supporting people affected by breast cancer across the UK.
