Under starter's orders at the Byre Theatre
St Andrews Play Club is bringing Amanda Whittington's hugely popular comedy Ladies' Day to local audiences this season.
Set against the glamorous backdrop of Royal Ascot, Ladies' Day follows four hardworking fish factory workers from Hull who swap hairnets for fancy hats as they embark on a life-changing day at the races.
Full of humour, heart and unexpected twists, this feel-good comedy has become one of Britain's most loved stage productions and continues to charm audiences across the country.
The production has been made possible thanks to the generous support of local businesses and organisations. St Andrews Play Club would like to extend sincere thanks to The Byre Theatre, The Keys Bar and The Old Course Hotel for their valued sponsorship and continuing encouragement of community theatre.
The club is especially grateful to David Lowrie Fish Merchants Ltd, principal sponsor of the production, whose outstanding support has helped bring Ladies' Day to life.
David Lowrie said: “I am absolutely delighted to be the main sponsor of St Andrews Play Club's forthcoming production of Ladies' Day.
“The club has a fantastic reputation for bringing high-quality entertainment to the community, and it is a privilege for David Lowrie Fish Merchants Ltd to support local talent and the performing arts.
“I wish the cast, crew and production team every success and look forward to what promises to be a wonderful series of performances.”
A spokesman for St Andrews Play Club added: “Community support is at the heart of everything we do. We are immensely grateful to our sponsors, supporters and audiences who help amateur theatre continue to thrive across St Andrews and the East Neuk.
“We look forward to welcoming everyone to enjoy this wonderful comedy and share in what promises to be a fantastic production.”
Ladies Day runs from November 4-7 with tickets available here.
