Fife Debenhams store closes for good

The shop, in the Kingsgate Shopping Centre in Dunfermline, has been completely shut along with the retailer’s 14 other Scottish stores.

Its flagship shop on London’s Oxford Street will not reopen either, it has been confirmed.

Administrators began a wind-down of its UK operation and chains remained open for in-store and online trading prior to the coronavirus lockdown at the turn of the year.

While its English stores are reopening temporarily from today, a decision has been made not to reopen the Scottish branches due to the delay in the easing of coronavirus restrictions north of the border.
