Town centre vacant buildings on agenda at Kirkcaldy Property Network event
An expert on town centre vacancies is the next speaker to address the newly launched Kirkcaldy Property Network.
Iain Nicholson, founder of The Vacant Shops Academy, will address its next meeting at Barty’s in Kirk Wynd on June 15 at 6:30pm.

The Oxford-based placemaking specialist has been appointed by Fife Council to carry out a study into vacant premises in Kirkcaldy town centre and develop recommendations to help reduce the number of empty units.
The meeting will also hear from Linda Martin, a Fife-based property investor with extensive experience in residential refurbishment projects. More recently, her focus has shifted towards commercial property investment, transforming buildings that might otherwise remain empty into business hubs, serviced spaces and mixed-use developments.
The evening will also include an opportunity for networking and an update on regeneration plans for Kirkcaldy town centre.
Kirkcaldy Property Network was established to raise awareness of local developments and investment opportunities, encourage collaboration between property investors, and provide a platform for property-related professionals to connect with investors and expand their client base.
Founder, Colin Miller said: “It’s clear to everyone that Kirkcaldy has a town centre vacancy problem. We are delighted that Fife Council has appointed The Vacant Shops Academy to carry out a study of vacant premises and develop recommendations to help tackle the issue.”
There is a small entry fee to cover refreshments, with any surplus from ticket sales donated to local charities and organisations. The network has raised £375 so far this year.
Tickets are available via Eventbrite. Further information about the network can be obtained by emailing [email protected].
