Her business creates bespoke wedding cakes, dessert installations and edible experiences for clients across Scotland.

Having spent 15 years building the business, Kerrie has developed her work from traditional celebration and wedding cakes into the colourful, sculptural and highly individual designs she now specialises in.

She treats each commission as a piece of design, and inspiration can come from fashion, textiles, architecture, colour, art or something personal to the people she is designing for.

Earlier this year, Kerrie made a significant change to the direction of Crumbdidilyumptious, moving away from more traditional wedding cake styles to concentrate on the creative work she most wanted to produce.

She said: “Being shortlisted genuinely means a lot, particularly because this year I made the decision to completely change the direction of my business and concentrate on the kind of creative work I actually want to make.

“After 15 years in business, it feels a bit like starting again, except with 15 years of experience behind me. I took a risk by moving away from what was expected and putting my own creative identity at the centre of the business, so to have that recognised is pretty special.”

The awards celebrate women in business from across the UK. Kerrie has been shortlisted in the Creative Business Woman of the Year category.

The winners will be announced in Birmingham on December 18.
