Youth theatre stage foodbank drive in memory of local hero
A Fife youth theatre group is turning the spotlight onto community spirit this week, combining final stage preparations with a heartfelt tribute to a beloved local figure.
Ahead of their upcoming production of The Wizard of Oz, members of Cupar Youth Musical Theatre held a dedicated collection for Cupar Foodbank.
The cause is deeply personal for the cast: one of its young performers is the granddaughter of the late Joe Preece, who devoted more than five years to managing the foodbank and supporting vulnerable local families.
The charity drive has added extra heart to an already buzzing final week of rehearsals, with the cast now putting the finishing touches on their production before opening night on Wednesday, November 11.

Curtain call for the show run includes 7.30pm evening performances on Wednesday 11th, Thursday 12th, and Friday, November 13, alongside a 2pm Saturday matinee on November 14.
