Fife man jailed after trying to persuade two boys to go home to ‘play pool’

A Fife man has been jailed for two years after approaching and repeatedly asking two boys to go back to his home to play pool.

Jordan Stenhouse, who has been on remand at HMP Perth, appeared from custody before Sheriff Jamie Gilchrist at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court.

Stenhouse, 21, was already banned from having unsupervised communication with children when he approached the two boys, aged 12 and 13, and asked them if they would return to his home.

Stenhouse admitted conducting himself in a disorderly manner by approaching the two schoolboys – who cannot be named for legal reasons – at Shorehead, Leven on November 11, 2020 and repeatedly asking them to come back to his home address stating he had a pool table to play on.

He further admitted breaching bail after being ordered not to have unsupervised contact with any child aged 15 or under, unless with another adult.

He also admitted on February 21, 2020 at an address in Den Walk, Buckhaven he breached a Risk of Sexual Harm Order requiring him to inform an officer from the Offender Management Unit of any device capable of accessing the Internet – he breached the order by having a mobile phone with Internet access which he did not report.

Between November 5 and November 7, 2019, Stenhouse admitted taking or permitted to be taken or made indecent photos or pseudo-photographs of children.

Sheriff Jamie Gilchrist sentenced Stenhouse to two years behind bars and placed him on the Sex Offenders Register for ten years.

He told Stenhouse he will spend most of his life in prison should his behaviour carry on after his release.
