Fifer wins big with the Postcode Lottery
A mystery winner in Glenrothes has bagged the lion’s share of a £1 million Postcode Lottery prize.
The unnamed person landed £380,281 in the lottery’s weekly Millionaire Street prize after KY7 6TR was announced as the winner on Saturday, September 19.
The remainder of the £1m pot - just shy of £620,000 - was shared among 1,195 locals in the wider postcode sector, KY7 6.
The winning area covers northern areas of Glenrothes such as Collydean and Balfarg and stretches as far as Markinch and Balgonie.
Players won between £443 and £1,772, depending on how many tickets they play with.
It’s the second time this year that the lottery’s million-pound prize has landed in Fife. Seventeen neighbours in Dunfermline split £1 million back in March with the biggest winner taking home over £157k.
Judie McCourt, Postcode Lottery ambassador, said: “What an incredible win for one person holding the winning ticket. I’m sure they’ll be jumping with joy.
“And because they’re the only one playing in that postcode, the rest of the prize pot has been shared - meaning more than a thousand people are smiling today.”
