Glenrothes manager wins top award at house building industry ‘Oscars’

A Glenrothes site manager has been recognised for his dedication to raising standards in house building after winning an esteemed industry award.

Organised by the National House Building Council (NHBC), the UK’s largest provider of new home warranties and insurance, four Scottish managers were crowned regional winners at the awards held at the Hilton Glasgow last week.

The four winning categories were small builder category, medium builder category, large and multi-story.

Peter Lawrie of Bellway Homes Scotland East was recognised in the large category for his commitment to improving the standards at Earl's Way development in Glenrothes at the Pride in the Job Awards 2026 which took place on Friday.

The three other winners were Eric Wallace of Orkney Builders for the small builder, Eddie McCann of Robertson Homes Limited in the large builder category and Campbell Te Rito of CALA Homes East in the multi-storey award.

In addition to their category awards, Peter Lawrie and the three other regional winners each received a Pride in the Job Seal of Excellence. Nine further managers were also awarded the same accolade.

Pride in the Job is widely seen as the house-building industry's answer to the Oscars. The UK and Isle of Man-wide competition celebrates site managers' dedication to raising standards, showcasing best practice and rewarding excellence in home building.

Commenting on the awards, Stefan Szymoszowskyj, NHBC regional director for Scotland said: “Congratulations to all the winners. They have demonstrated incredible dedication, passion, commitment and leadership to produce homes of exceptional quality.

“The Pride in the Job competition is at the heart of NHBC’s core purpose to raise standards in house building. It inspires site managers to make their mark on the industry, earning the respect of their peers and leaving a legacy of homes built to the highest quality standards.”

Eric, Eddie, Peter and Campbell will now go forward to the Pride in the Job Supreme Awards, house building's ultimate prize. Winners will be unveiled at a gala ceremony in London in January 2027.
